Camp Rapid descent transports you to that idyllic existence that you long for, with the sublime Ganges flowing by, lush green canopy of trees and your own private beach. It is just the place where you can unwind and do what you wish to, it’s a place where you can hear the river, the wind and the birds harmonise. A glorious retreat for the entire family, a group of friends or just you, camp Rapid Descent has something for offer to everyone who visits it.

The camp is also a haven for the outdoor activities with White water rafting (addictive to the extreme) leading the list. A discussion late into the night dissecting every inch of the trip over a crackling bonfire is mandatory and adds to the enjoyment.

This apart, activities like Rock climbing, rappelling, body surfing, Kayaking & Hiking are all there for the taking.

There are many good things that we could say about camp Rapid Descent, the outstanding hospitality apart, but this is what we will, “do your own thing”, it’s all there for you!

Activities
The scope at Camp rapid Descent is boundless. But as mentioned before the hot favourites are White water rafting, Kayaking, Rock climbing, rappelling, Hiking, Bridge slithering & Jungle safari; each having enough ammunition to keep the adrenaline pumping. Also, the camp has its own placid water lagoon where one can swim with life jackets or just laze in the water.

Facilities
Accommodation: The camp provides comfortable accommodation in Swiss alpine tents. Each tent has 2 cots with comfortable bedding and clean Linen, a table and a Lantern.
Sanitation: The bathrooms have running water and the toilets are dry pit toilets. The commodes are commodious and as convenient as being at home. For privacy the designated sanitation facilities for men and women are in separate enclosures.
Food: We have a full-fledged kitchen that provides you with hot multi-cuisine meals apart from all the cups of tea / coffee you might want.

How to reach
By Air: The Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun is the nearest airport and is connected by Indian Airlines from Delhi. The drive from the airport to our camp is about 40 km and a pick up can be organised.
By Train: The nearest railhead to Camp Rapid Descent is Haridwar 40 km away. Haridwar is connected to all parts of the country. The prominent trains from Delhi are Mussoorie Express, Shatabdi Express & Jan Shatabdi. A taxi from the station to our camp costs Rs. 550.
By Road: The road connection to our camp from New Delhi takes you through Meerut (bypass) - – Muzzafarnagar (bypass) - Haridwar - Rishikesh - Shivpuri on NH 58. The total distance is about 240 Km and normally takes 6 hrs to Rishikesh from Delhi ISBT. From Rishikes Camp Rapid Descent is 16 km away and there are taxi’s available for Rs. 300 to the camp or state transport buses that will drop you off. Avoid taking the bypasses if travelling late in the night.
